World Book Encyclopedia 2007-Classic Binding World Book Online

The Online Reference Center is an excellent source for accurate and authoritative information.  The comprehensive set includes all the articles from the 22-volume print set, plus thousands more.  In addition, there are more than 12,000 pictures and maps, 100 videos and animations, and links to periodicals and approved web sites.   There is a fast, easy to use search engine with a Research Helper to guide new users.  There is also a section for younger children called World Book Kids.  To use this resource, you may log in with your library barcode number or you may contact the Reference Desk for  ID and password.

 

Student Research Center

This graphically oriented resource for students in grades 6-12 includes full text articles from magazines, newspapers, reference books and encyclopedias, biographies, country reports, primary documents, TV and radio news transcripts, and a dictionary.  There are also resources for teachers.  Please use the image link on the left or the title link to access this resource and then log in with your library barcode number.

 

Kids Search

Children's/Young Adult Resources

Students are able to access full text magazine articles from more than 700 popular magazines, pamphlets, reference books, and primary documents.  There is an image collection of more that 200,000 photographs, maps, and flags.  This resource is composed of Primary Search, for elementary grades; Middle Search for middle school students; and MAS Ultra for high school students.  There is also an encyclopedia for students to access.  Please use the image link on the left or the title link to access this resource and then log in with your library barcode number.

Students using computers in the Concord Public Library Children's Room The Children's Room has eight Internet computer terminals.  These workstations are available to children through grade 8.  Users need to complete a registration form, signed by a parent or guardian, to have computer privileges.  On each visit, children must sign in with a Librarian.
